The initial purpose of the Tune of the Day series was to highlight talented artists with smaller-than-deserved audiences (and apparently to find the courage to use hyphens). But today, I’m going to make an exception. Today, I want you to listen to Bon Iver.
In particular, I want to bring your attention to a song of his that has existed on the fringe of his discography since its release, due entirely to the fact that its never been listed on any of the major streaming platforms.
The song is called Heavenly Father. I’ve posted two versions below. The first and original recording was released 10 years ago. The second, a live acapella version, was performed 2 years later in Sydney.
I think I’m just gonna listen today too.
